March 17, 2000 Anthony met with Hope, Rose F, Rose M and Neze together with Fr. Reynold Corcino, HS principal, during the HS graduation dinner.

Aklan College (AC) plans to transfer the high school department to Andagao (near the public market). It will build a 10-classroom building anytime now to be completed next year. This will be inaugurated by Cardinal Sin during Aklan College's millennium foundation day on September 8. Our batch being millennium jubilarian is invited.

The only teacher left from our batch is Ma'am Shirley Tolentino who will be retiring April 1. Ma'am Nita Constantino-Tuayon (Pilipino teacher) is now teaching in college. Ma'am Agnes Calizo is now dean for Normal Training department. Ma'am Cecilia Calizo went on to acquire an engineering degree and is now principal for elementary.

Congratulations is due to Jun Macogue. His daughter graduated honorable Mention and got another award. Jun was also a Honorable Mention awardee and Model Boy.

AC no longer enjoys the academic reputation it used to have. There is a science high school equivalent to the provincial Philippine Science that absorbs the cream of elementary schools all over the province. The seminary is also producing top graduates.

The basic problem these days is campus violence. Between schools and between 4th and 3rd year males. The school administrators blame the teacher's strike that almost killed the school in the mid-80s for the slide in standards.
